Ayurveda-herbalHas it ever crossed your mind how people from India have very healthy hair ? I finally got my strength to ask somebody from India the reason for this mystery. Her answer was very simple: hair Ayurveda . What I knew about Ayurveda was that it is an ancient medical system so why should this have anything to do with our hair . She further explained that what Ayurveda actually does is to balance one’s body, mind and spirit. Essentially, Ayurveda helps one prevent illness and promote wellness . Since Ayurveda helps to improve our health in a holistic scale, our hair gets benefited as well.

Using different herbs, plants, oils and spices for your Ayurveda treatment is the best method to get the hair you want. Gotu Kola and Eclipta alba are the two herbs that are often used in ayurvedic hair products . Eclipta alba is great in that it effectively increases our resistance to stress and nourish our hair at the same time; it is also known as Bhrinaraj. On the other hand, Gotu Kola or Brahmi helps to restore balance in our minds as well as nourish not just our hair but our scalp as well . The same way that Ayurveda restores our health, hair ayurveda helps to bring back luster and color to our hair . One very practical way of doing hair Ayurveda is to use Ayurvedic hair oil on your scalp to strengthen your roots and relieve you of stress . You can choose from a slew of oils, some of my picks are country mallow for strong physiology and winter cherry to help remove stress .

The best thing about Ayurvedic hair oils is you can apply them as often as once in a day to at least 3 times a week. For another method you can also create a hair mask with cooked Urad dal or black bean and fenugreek or Methi. For that paste, apply it to your hair for approximately an hour, 2 to 3 times in a week and rinse it off with mild shampoo . The convenience of present time is that you can get Ayurvedic shampoos and conditioners almost anywhere.
